I just had cataracts removed by Dr. Ali the traditional way (covered by Medicare) and the surgery turned out great! No pain, no complications and my vision is better than it's been in years. I need reading glasses due to Medicare's limited coverage but I can't say enough about the surgical skill of Dr. Ali and her excellent follow-up care. The Koziol-Thoms staff is great as well, making the whole procedure go smooth and easy!
My rare congenital cataract was diagnosed by a previous doctor who wouldn't take time to discuss the implications. I researched the condition - and for another doctor. The surgery for this commonly "goes bad '' requiring another surgery by a retinologist to correct the problem. Dr. Boundaoui is well experienced, with board certifications in both ophthalmology and retinology, and additionally consulted with other doctors about my upcoming surgery. The surgery went perfectly, with no further procedures required, as did the surgery weeks later on the "normal" cataract in my other eye. Dr. Boundaoui's decisions on the power of the lenses inserted during surgery for distance and near vision, since I had already adapted to monovision from previous contact lenses, have resulted in 20/20 vision without glasses for the first time in decades. I think this is a remarkable example of medical excellence
Dr. Ali is fantastic! After seeing her for the first time this year as a new patient with an eye issue, she helped advocate for me when I needed urgent care at the hospital. She even called to ensure I got the care I needed after hours and made sure she talked to the other doctors or me about the status of my issue.
